The Glamorization of Immorality in Contemporary Drama: A Reading of the Mechanisms for Breaking Psychological Barriers

When dramatic and cinematic works deliberately present characters steeped in major sins and transgressions as "elegant, wealthy, and attractive," we are not dealing with a mere abstract work of art, but rather a systematic process of glamorizing evil. The ultimate goal of this industry is to break the psychological barrier between a person and the forbidden, and to beautify ugliness until the eye becomes accustomed to it and the heart's aversion to it ceases.
Mechanisms of Deception in Collective Consciousness
Manufacturing Degenerate 'Trends': Relying on double entendres and suggestive language is not cleverness; rather, it is moral bankruptcy and artistic decline that deliberately poisons the taste of future generations and normalizes them to vulgarity.
A World Without a Compass: Creating parallel worlds governed neither by religion nor conscience, where the sole driver is lust and whim, until sound fitrah (innate nature) appears in this context as something strange or backward.
Wrapping Vice in Romance: Portraying forbidden relationships within a soft frame and calm music transforms disobedience in the viewer's eyes into an "innocent human experience," while it is in reality a sledgehammer destroying societal morals and dismantling the family.
Subliminal Messages and Their Societal Impact
These works lead to the dilution of the concept of the forbidden by deluding the viewer into thinking that "everyone does it," leading to the alienation of values; the committed individual appears as a naive figure of ridicule, while the dissolute appears as a heroic role model. More dangerous still is the portrayal of betrayal and whims as a legitimate right in the journey of self-discovery.
Satan makes them promises and brings them desires, but Satan promises them nothing but deceit.
Surah An-Nisa, Verse 120
Between the Purity of Chastity and the Decline of Lust
What a difference between those who pant after a fleeting whim that destroys their lives, and the lofty Quranic model; for the Prophet of Allah Musa (peace be upon him) gave ten years of his life as a dowry to marry within the framework of the permissible and honor. This is the fundamental difference between the purity that builds homes and the whim that destroys societies.
Art that does not respect fitrah and religion is nothing but degenerate content wrapped in a shiny package; not all that glitters is gold, and true beauty is that which elevates man, not that which drags him down to the depths of lust.
