The Iranian landscape has recently witnessed a remarkable surge in atheism rates—a phenomenon that has reached unexpected levels, necessitating a serious analytical pause. This pattern of atheism does not resemble modern European atheism in its essence, which may at times be characterized by coldness or indifference; rather, it is a unique form of atheism.
Characteristics of Atheism within Iran
Atheism in Iran is characterized by being more militant and confrontational, primarily centered around the rejection of religious institutions and direct attacks upon them. This state can be likened to
Maoist or Leninist atheism, which does not settle for the mere denial of the Creator's existence, but relies on violent intellectual and field-level confrontation with religious ideas.
The Duty of the Hour and Da'wah Responsibility
In light of this reality, there is an urgent necessity to present the correct image of Islam and to refute these doubts and ideas in a systematic and convincing manner. There is a dire need today to intensify da'wah efforts directed specifically in the Persian language, as it has become a frontier of intellectual confrontation that requires focus and continuous, serious labor.
