The 'Mujtama' Project and the New Frontiers of Heresy: A Reading of Contemporary Westernization Mechanisms

On the fourth of last May, the Islamic world witnessed the announcement of a center called (Takween), which represented the first public institution explicitly aimed at challenging the constants of religion and spreading heresy. Thanks to the blessed campaign and public awareness against it, its founders were forced to retreat and its figures faded into the shadows, but the battle is not yet over.

Only a few months passed before funds were directed toward a new project with different faces; the (Mujtama') channel appeared through intensive advertising campaigns that swept social media platforms, serving as the latest facade for currents seeking to undermine Islamic identity from within.

Pillars of the New Deviant Discourse

This project and its counterparts seek to convince Muslims of a set of dangerous propositions, including:

• Invalidating the authority of the Prophetic Sunnah in legislation and stripping it of its epistemological value.

• Utilizing modern linguistic methods to distort the literal meanings of the Holy Qur’an, such that acts of worship like prayer are transformed from divinely ordained rituals into mere social customs or general supplications.

• Promoting the equality of religions under slogans of brotherhood and equality, which is known as the (Abrahamic Religion) project.

The Strategic Objective and the Prophetic Warning

The ultimate goal of these movements is to erase the distinctiveness of Islam and dissolve it until it becomes mere cultural material alongside other beliefs. This reminds us of what the Prophet ﷺ foretold regarding a time when neither fasting nor prayer would be known—the stage preceding the appearance of the Dajjal—and today we see the precursors of those schemes.

The planning is extensive, the funding is massive, and the faces change, but the goal remains one. Therefore, the Ummah must awaken to this conspiracy and expose its agendas. Just as Allah nullified the plot of (Takween), He will, by His power, nullify the plot of (Mujtama'), for awareness is the primary weapon against Westernization.
