Aiding Disbelievers Against Muslims: A Creedal Rooting in the Nullifiers of Islam

Among the foundations of the Islamic creed that every Muslim must comprehend is the knowledge of the nullifiers of Islam. One of the most dangerous of these nullifiers is what we witness today in forms of support and alliance with hostile entities in their operations against Muslims. This act is not merely a behavioral error, but rather one of the ten nullifiers of Islam as established by the scholars of the Ummah.
Aiding disbelievers and assisting them in their operations against Muslims is considered disbelief that contradicts faith; it is known as the disbelief of 'Tawalli' (allegiance), whether this assistance is through wealth, the sword (weaponry), or through rhetoric and the tongue. Whoever becomes a supporter or a backer for them has fallen into the great prohibition for which a claim of faith is of no avail.
And whoever is an ally to them among you—then indeed, he is [one] of them.
(Surah Al-Ma'idah: 51)
The Holy Quran has emphasized that loyalty to the enemies of the religion is incompatible with the reality of faith in Allah and the Prophet, as in His saying:
You see many of them becoming allies of those who disbelieved. Wretched is that which they have advanced for themselves—that Allah has become angry with them, and in the punishment they will abide eternally. And if they had believed in Allah and the Prophet and what was revealed to him, they would not have taken them as allies.
(Surah Al-Ma'idah: 80-81)
This matter is among the issues upon which the Islamic Ummah has reached a consensus; for whoever allies with them in their aggression has nothing to do with Allah, as stated in the noble verse:
Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah.
(Surah Ali 'Imran: 28)
Therefore, it is mandatory for every Muslim to beware of these creedal pitfalls and to study the Ten Nullifiers of Islam to protect their religion from deviation and from falling into that which nullifies one's deeds.
