The Westernization of Identity and the Dangers of Targeting Human Fitrah in Contemporary Manifestations

What we witness today in some public gatherings—transgressions of Sharia such as musical instruments and prohibited mixing, accompanied by the appearance of some men in strange forms such as tattoos and wearing earrings—necessitates a moment of deep reflection that goes beyond mere conventional jurisprudential denunciation.
The Alteration of Identity and the Dissolving of Distinctions
The true danger in these scenes lies not only in the commission of clear prohibitions that the general public denounces, but in the systematic attempt to alter the identity of society itself. The endeavor to make society a distorted version of Western societies, where the fundamental distinctions between the appearance of a man and a woman dissolve, is a direct targeting of the fitrah upon which Allah created mankind.
The Psychology of Visual Habituation
Change does not usually come through direct calls for imitation, but rather through a strategy of visual normalization. When these scenes are repeated everywhere, the eye begins to grow accustomed to them, and subsequently, the mind gradually begins to accept what it rejected yesterday. This gradual acceptance is the slippery slope that ultimately leads to the abandonment of innate and value-based constants.
Preserving the fitrah and protecting the Islamic identity from dilution is primarily a battle of awareness, requiring us to remain vigilant against the Westernization and distortion intended for us.
