The Dangers of Meditation and Yoga: From Shamanic Roots to the Infiltration of Creed

Dr. Haitham Talaat
One who contemplates the history of deviant spiritual practices finds that the most dangerous sorcerers of the ancient world were the Shamans of East Asia; it was they who laid the first foundations for the spread of Yoga and Meditation practices, deluding people into believing that reaching total stillness and suspending the intellect is the ultimate goal of spirituality.
Yet, the terrifying truth lies in the fact that this state of unconsciousness is nothing but an entry point for satanic whispers; for when human consciousness recedes and critical thinking is suspended, Satan begins to broadcast alien ideas and cast doubt upon axioms, until entirely new creeds are planted—which was a primary cause for the emergence and expansion of Hindu philosophies.
The Soft Targeting of Islamic Constants
What necessitates extreme caution is the emergence of a current in our Islamic world that adopts the same method but with a soft veneer; these individuals begin with eloquent discourse on religion and spirituality, then proceed to plant poison in the honey through misleading claims such as:
Claiming that the Prophetic Sunnah is unestablished or merely historical.
Alleging that authoritative exegeses are archaic and unsuitable for the modern age.
Calling for the practice of ritualistic meditation as a substitute for or supplement to Sharia-prescribed worship.
These practices are not as innocent as they appear on the surface; rather, they are a systematic process to dismantle the creedal and legal constants of the Muslim, necessitating a full awareness of the roots and consequences of these ideas.
