The Reality of Energy Healing: Contemporary Paganism in the Garb of Self-Development

In recent times, soft practices and terms have spread that hide grave theological and intellectual dangers. These include what is called Energy Healing, Chakra Cleansing, and Spiritual Meditation; in reality, these are nothing but modern names for ancient beliefs that contradict the foundations of Tawhid (Monotheism).
The Masks of Contemporary Paganism
Anyone who calls for concepts such as connecting with cosmic energy, or activating the Beautiful Names of Allah within the body through ritualistic methods, or charging the body with positive energy and withdrawing the negative, or promoting the Law of Attraction and Karma; is merely presenting sorcery and charlatanism in a shiny modern mold.
These practices lack any valid legal (Shari'i) basis, nor do they rely on any recognized empirical scientific foundation. Rather, they are derived from the pagan beliefs of ancient Eastern religions, repackaged and marketed under the banners of Self-Development and Spiritual Healing.
New Entrances for the Devil
The devil has found new doors to influence people's creeds and minds through the gateway of Energy; these delusions are sometimes marketed with a religious tint to deceive the masses and divert them from proper reliance (Tawakkul) upon Allah and seeking refuge in Him alone.
For those who wish to expand their understanding of the roots of this phenomenon and how to confront it, we recommend reading the book Spiritual Atheism; it exposes the falsehood of these claims and clarifies the reality of so-called cosmic consciousness and energy, so that the Muslim does not fall prey to sweet talk and false promises.
