Secular Double Standards: Protecting Religions Between West and East

In a revealing political scene, US President Donald Trump announced his intention to protect Christians everywhere and issued orders to establish what is called the "Office of Faith." What is worth contemplating here is the absolute silence that fell upon Western secular circles; protecting religion in their context is considered natural and acceptable within the requirements of politics and identity.
However, this Western acceptance presents us with a rhetorical question: What if the ruler of a Muslim state announced the protection of Muslims in various parts of the world, or began establishing an office to monitor the affairs of the Islamic Ummah globally? The answer is manifest in the hysterical reactions we would see from the guardians of secularism in our Arab world, and those who follow them among atheists and suspicious centers that raise slogans of enlightenment.
This discrepancy in positions confirms a fundamental truth: there is no true secularism or abstract intellectual atheism in the Islamic world. Rather, we are facing ideological and funded organizations whose primary goal is the war on Islam and the dismantling of its bonds. They have no relation to claimed secular values or the philosophical methodologies of atheism; they are merely functional tools in the conflict of identity.
