Seizing the Opportunity of Youth: In Search of True Tranquility

Among the greatest trials a youth faces in the prime of life is the dissipation of the soul chasing the mirage of false happiness, and seeking comfort in places that yield nothing but anxiety and distress. How much energy is squandered in companionship that distances the servant from his Lord, and in conversations and late nights that only increase the heart in hardness and the certainty in weakness.

The tranquility that souls seek is not found in the clamor of music nor in the multitude of social circles; rather, it is a Divine gift descended during a humble prostration, a sincere tear shed out of fear of Allah, or pure remembrance in a solitude where none sees you but the Creator, Glory be to Him. Only there does the heart find its resting place, and the soul find its intimacy.

Self-Construction through Obedience to Allah

Today, you are in the flower of your youth, possessing opportunities that may never recur; thus, dedicate this time to building yourself spiritually and intellectually. A sincere step toward Allah Almighty at this age may be the savior, and perhaps the cause for a good end and the attainment of the highest ranks in Paradise.

Let not the world deceive you with its adornments, and let not companionship steal your life, which is your only capital. Always remember that this world is ephemeral, and that which is with Allah is everlasting; Paradise is worthy of all our striving and patience.
