The Virtue of Invoking Blessings upon the Prophet and Seeking Forgiveness in Relieving Distress

Among the greatest gates of relief that a believer knocks upon during times of anxiety, accumulating obligations, and intensifying distress is the persistence in seeking forgiveness (Istighfar) and frequently invoking blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him). These remembrances are not merely verbal litanies; they are keys to certainty and gateways to tranquility and provision.
The Chosen One (peace be upon him) guided us that dedicating one's time to dhikr and invoking blessings upon him is sufficient to dispel grief and expiate sins, as stated in the hadith of Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) when he said:
'O Messenger of Allah, I frequently invoke blessings upon you. How much of my prayer should I devote to you?' He said: 'As much as you wish.' I said: 'A quarter?' He said: 'As much as you wish, but if you increase it, it is better for you.' I said: 'Two-thirds?' He said: 'As much as you wish, but if you increase it, it is better for you.' I said: 'Half?' He said: 'As much as you wish, but if you increase it, it is better for you.' I said: 'I shall devote all of my prayer to you.' He said: 'Then your worries will be sufficient for you and your sins will be forgiven.'
Whosoever desires that their worries be sufficed and their sins forgiven, let them reserve a generous portion of these acts of obedience for themselves, and let them trust in the promise of Allah and His Messenger regarding the relief of crises.
