The Beginning of the Universe: The Scientific Fact That Confounded Atheists

At the dawn of the twentieth century, scientists uncovered a staggering cosmic truth that fundamentally shifted the human understanding of existence: the universe is not eternal, but has a definite beginning; it emerged from absolute nothingness, transcending the boundaries of time and space.
This concept has today become a matter of broad scientific consensus; however, this fact has placed atheistic thought in a logical and scientific predicament. If the universe is incapable of bringing itself into existence from nothingness, then who brought it into being?
Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?
Surah At-Tur, Verse 35.
Scientific Testimonies on the Theological Dimensions of Cosmic Origins
Leading physicists have recognized that acknowledging the beginning of the universe necessarily entails raising theological questions. This was expressed by the agnostic thinker David Berlinski when he noted that physicists are deeply unsettled by the idea of a beginning because it opens the doors to religious inquiries.
In the same context, Stephen Hawking pointed out in his book (A Brief History of Time) that the reluctance of some to accept the idea of a cosmic beginning is essentially due to the profound religious dimensions it carries. Furthermore, the physicist Arthur Eddington went as far as describing the idea of the beginning of time as "repugnant" to his intellectual orientation, given the faith-based conclusions it imposes.
This psychological resistance among some theorists does not change the scientific reality; the cosmic beginning remains a definitive rational proof of the existence of the Creator, regardless of attempts to divert attention from this conclusion for ideological motives.
