Clarifying the Truth and Warning Against the Paths of Contemporary Intellectual Deviation

The pressures and threats we face as a result of exposing certain discourses that contradict the explicit tenets of religion will not deter us from moving forward in clarifying the truth. Allah knows that the objective has never been to engage in personal conflicts, but rather it is pure and sincere counsel to the Ummah and a clarification of the truth which Allah has commanded us not to conceal.

Today, we stand with a certainty and insight we did not possess before, that what is being proposed by certain contemporary circles represents a dangerous deviation from the path of rectitude. Anyone who examines these propositions with an impartial eye will realize the extent of the risk they pose to the foundational constants.

Prominent Features of Deviation in Contemporary Discourses

Proponents of these ideas seek to spread their toxins among young men and women without restraint, demanding that those who speak the truth remain silent, lest they be subjected to defamation. Among the most prominent delusions they promote are:

• The false claim that the number of verses in the Holy Quran is less than what is consensually agreed upon, and the allegation that a portion of it is not part of the Revelation.

• Denying that the Prophetic Sunnah is a revelation from Allah, and reducing the status of the Prophet ﷺ to a mere human conveyor of the message.

• Systematic skepticism regarding rituals and acts of worship established by mass-transmission (tawatur) and consensus (ijma').

• Proposing strange modernist interpretations that touch upon the sanctities of the Ummah and its existential causes.

• Inverting Sharia concepts so that the one who adheres to his religion is placed in a position of accusation and labeled as reactionary.

These ideas do not stop at the boundaries of intellectual luxury; rather, they cause the destabilization of the faith of the common people. Their effects have reached inside Muslim homes, leading some to abandon worship and fall into confusion.

Therefore, warning against these misconceptions is a Sharia responsibility that falls upon every Muslim according to their ability. Do not underestimate your role in spreading awareness and protecting the sanctity of the religion, even with a sincere word by which you defend the domains of Islam.
