Reliance upon God: The Spiritual Antidote to Psychological Fears and Future Apprehensions

When a person begins to feel fear for tomorrow, surrenders to the power of pessimism, and sinks into the cycle of overthinking that leads to insomnia and distress, they place themselves on the threshold of depression, which may necessitate behavioral and psychological treatment. This feeling of panic consumes the seeds of hope and optimism within the soul, turning life into a dark void.

The Illusion of Human Power and Future Guarantees

One of the greatest causes of misery is for a person to exaggerate human calculations, forgetting their weakness and lack of resourcefulness, and neglecting the power of God, in whose hand is the dominion of all things. When a servant fears people who possess neither benefit nor harm for themselves, they fall into the trap of hesitation and the search for written guarantees for every step, which hinders their movement in life and deprives them of beneficial experiences.

Here, we must remember that Satan promises us poverty and frightens us regarding the future, while prophetic guidance directs us to arrange our priorities. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever makes the world his primary concern, Allah will place his poverty between his eyes and scatter his affairs".

The Absence of True Support

Being distant from God Almighty means losing the greatest support and sustainer in existence. Without reliance on God, the Provider, a person finds themselves materially and psychologically naked, exposed to their fears. True success is not achieved merely by mobilizing material causes, but by combining the pursuit of means with sincere reliance on the Creator.

Allah wants to lighten for you [your difficulties]; and mankind was created weak

[Surah An-Nisa: 28]

In conclusion, no matter what worldly wreckage a person possesses—be it millions, power, or prestige—they will remain in a state of constant terror unless they lean upon the firm pillar of God. Seek help from your Creator, in whose hand are the keys to all matters, and you will find the comfort and security you seek.
