The Holy Qur'an and the Shortest Path to Faith-Based Certainty

Maintaining a daily portion of contemplation (tadabbur) of the Holy Quran holds profound spiritual secrets; for in contemplation lies the answer to every misconception, tranquility for the heart, and a healing for the soul. Among the miracles of the Quran is that one finds within it solutions to contemporary life problems as if the verses were revealed to address their specific day—an experience widely attested to by many.
A Proposed Methodology for Contemplation
It is recommended for those seeking to build a firm relationship with Revelation to begin by reading the verse, then consulting a simplified exegesis such as Al-Tafsir al-Muyassar or Al-Mukhtasar fi al-Tafsir; then re-reading the verse to internalize the meaning. Once this stage is complete, one may progress to more expansive commentaries, such as the Tafsir of Imam Al-Sa'di (may Allah have mercy on him).
Testimonies of Those Returning to the Path of Revelation
The great figures who delved into lengthy theological and philosophical discourses in search of certainty confessed in their later years that the simplest and best path to reaching the Truth is the path of the Holy Quran. Imam Al-Fakhr al-Razi states while affirming this reality:
I have contemplated the theological methods and philosophical paths, and I did not find them healing the sick or quenching the thirsty. I found the nearest of paths to be the path of the Quran... and whoever has experienced what I have experienced will know what I have known.
(Siyar A'lam al-Nubala, Vol. 21, p. 501)
Similarly, we find Imam al-Haramayn Al-Juwayni affirming the same meaning by saying: "I have read fifty thousand by fifty thousand, and I have sailed the vast ocean and delved into that which they forbade me from, and here I am returning to the Truth by the Truth." Indeed, in the spiritual ascents of the Quran, there is that which suffices the wise from wandering in the dark corridors of philosophy.
