Women and the Struggle of Fitrah: A Reading into the Consequences of Modern Feminist Ideas

The human tragedies we witness today, including painful incidents of self-harm and loss of life, are not merely fleeting accidents. Rather, they are often the victims of imported ideologies that have convinced women they can—and indeed must—bear everything alone. A notion has been promoted that a woman possesses absolute guardianship and authority over herself in every detail of her life, and that she is capable of carrying existential burdens without need for anyone. However, reality has proven that this idea places her in a bitter conflict with her innate nature (fitrah), burdening her with what she cannot endure.
Departure from the Requirements of Fitrah
The inevitable result of a human being attempting to live outside their nature is a rapid collapse. A woman has a psychological specificity and a nature upon which God created her, within an integrated legal (shari'i) system that guarantees her security and stability, rather than leaving her to face the storms of life in isolation. Certain modern ideas demand a heavy price from women that they cannot pay, only to abandon them at the first stumble or fall.
The Responsibility of Men and Society
Some may raise the issue of men's negligence regarding women's rights—a matter that indeed occurs. But does this negligence justify transforming a woman into a being required to endure everything alone? The truth is that every man who abandons his responsibility, pushing a woman to bear what is not part of her natural role, contributes to the entrenchment of the very idea that exhausts and harms her.
Anyone who incites young women to reject the role of men entirely, or portrays absolute self-reliance as a substitute for family integration, is pushing them toward a path filled with psychological pressure and breakdown. The problem lies in an entire system seeking to alter natural roles, leading to the detriment of society as a whole: women, men, and children alike.
