Empirical science is, in its essence, a neutral cognitive tool; it does not favor one belief system over another in terms of its mechanisms. However, the fundamental difference lies in the ethical objectives and civilizational outcomes produced by different frameworks.
Despite our reservations about adopting or mimicking the intellectual templates of the opponents of the Islamic movement, reality sometimes necessitates exposing the blatant contradiction in secular discourse that links progress to the abandonment of religion.
Between Religious Authority and Secular Reality
Today, we see honorable examples from members of religious institutions, such as Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, providing genuine science that benefits the most prestigious international laboratories, while remaining steadfast in their identity and framework. Conversely, we find that some societies that adopted secularism as their sole reference have ended up commodifying the human being and exploiting them in various forms far removed from human dignity.
The conclusion that every person of intellect must realize is that scientific progress has no religion in terms of its material origin, but the people of faith are the most worthy of leading and directing this progress, for they possess the moral restraint that protects science from turning into a tool for destruction or degradation.
